Executive Coaching
Executive Coaching is a professional one-to-one relationship with the purpose of facilitating the improvement of work performance and well-being through the self-directed learning and personal growth of the client. An executive coach combines the roles of mentor, trainer, manager and sports coach to help clients achieve success.
The mentor provides inspiration and a place to reflect in order to help the client make sense of their current context, and set challenging and rewarding goals. The manager encourages the client to formulate an approach, break down the goals into manageable tasks and supervises performance; the trainer provides tools and gives feedback about behaviour and technique, and the sports coach keeps the client motivated and moving along their path.
The process encourages independence and self-directed learning and enables executives to determine their own solutions. It is an opportunity for executives to discuss important matters in a confidential and secure environment. It opens the door to new ideas, fresh perspectives, and personal growth by helping executives identify key issues and discover counterproductive behaviours. It offers alternative ways of viewing a situation to allow solutions to emerge, and the client can then adopt new actions that can be immediately applied.
The coaching process acknowledges the whole person and therefore covers all areas that impact the client personally taking into account the broader business and social environment, day-to day work life and home life in order to achieve a better work/life integration.
Overall the process is aimed at achieving professional success and personal fulfillment for the client.
